You hold an approved direction

Leadership set the direction. This engagement gives that direction a definition everyone can act on, evidence everyone can trust, and a decision gate leadership actually controls.

Evidence

This is a known, measured problem.

  • Robert Kaplan and David Norton, founders of the Balanced Scorecard at Harvard, reported that 90% of strategies fail — most not in formulation but in the unmeasured distance between intent and execution.
  • MIT’s Project NANDA reported that 95% of enterprise generative AI pilots delivered zero measurable return on $30–40 billion invested.
  • McKinsey has found that roughly 70% of large-scale transformation programs fail to achieve their goals.

When to engage

Leadership has approved the desired business direction, but the outcome needs a precise definition, the solution remains unproven, and execution crosses organizational boundaries. If you already hold a proven, leadership-approved concept, the companion engagement begins there, following verification.

Scope

What the engagement covers

Define the outcome

A shared definition of success, scope, constraints and accountable business ownership.

Establish solution evidence

A bounded proof of concept and an assessment of findings, limitations and deployment implications.

Enable the investment decision

Recommendations, options and an evidence package for leadership to approve, revise, retest or stop.

Make execution accountable

An integrated delivery plan with accepted business unit responsibilities, resource needs, dependencies and handoffs.

Prepare and deliver production

Coordinated readiness, business acceptance, release planning and transition to operational ownership.

Verify business results

An agreed measurement approach, assessment of actual outcomes and recommendations for improvement or scale.

How responsibility is shared

spgFix provides the agreed verification, recommendations and execution coordination. Your organization retains business decisions, funding authority, system and data ownership, and specialist approvals. Build, integration, testing and operational work are assigned to agreed internal teams or delivery partners; direct implementation services are included only when expressly scoped.

Engagement boundaries and success

Participating units, deliverables, acceptance criteria, schedule and fees are agreed before work begins. Third-party costs and scope changes are separately agreed. Success is assessed against the approved outcome and accepted evidence. Proof-of-concept success, leadership approval and financial returns are not guaranteed. A partner who is precise about what an engagement does not promise is easier to trust about what it does.

How an engagement begins

A working conversation about leadership’s approved direction — the ambition, the current state, and the units it touches. Deliverables, acceptance criteria, schedule and fees are agreed in writing before any work begins.
